This original Gustavian style armchair is from the 19th century. Fauteuil stands for armchair, which is elaborately decorated and gilded. The cover is made of Chinese silk with motifs from that time. This armchair (Fauteuil) is in subtle gold. Rosettes and shell carvings adorn the piece of furniture. The floral carvings are also superbly done, as are the fluted and tapered legs. A comfortable piece for use. The cover in original Chinese silk shows the motifs typical of the time as a pattern.
