Product Details

Painted decoration with the symbol "Shuangxi" in blue. Shuangxi is a Chinese term meaning "double joy" or "double happiness". It is a traditional symbolic figure that is often used in Chinese culture when celebrating weddings and other festive occasions.

Ginger cups and vase jars are a special type of Chinese porcelain used to store and serve ginger and perfumes. The Shuangxi symbol is often seen on ginger cups, conveying a wish for good fortune and prosperity for those who use ginger for cooking or for its health-giving properties. However, the peach blossoms and other ornaments partially depicted here are also typical of these noble pieces from ancient China.

Offered here are two different pairs and a very rare and very valuable ginger jar with matching lid. The price refers to the collection. All parts come from Sweden and were made in China. The production is around 1860. Gladly you can also buy the pairs or the rare ginger pot individually, just contact us.
